WHAT ARE CHEMICAL PEELS?

The surface of our skin is naturally covered with dead cells that act as a protective barrier against the external environment. However, this buildup can make the complexion look uneven, dull, or blotchy. Chemical peels help remove these cells by promoting skin renewal — gently peeling the skin to reveal fresher, healthier, and more radiant skin underneath.

They are ideal for treating a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Melasma
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven pigmentation

These treatments can also be combined with BELA MD+ or laser procedures for even more visible results.

TYPES OF CHEMICAL PEELS AND THEIR BENEFITS

Chemical peels are most commonly performed on the face, neck, and décolleté. Their effectiveness depends on the depth of penetration:

  • Superficial (esthetic) peel: works only on the epidermis, providing a gentle, progressive effect.

  • Deeper (medical) peel: reaches the surface of the dermis for a more noticeable result.

Benefits include:

  • Brightening a dull, uneven complexion
  • Reducing excess oil and oily skin
  • Improving skin texture
  • Fading sun spots or pigmentation
  • Treating certain keratoses
  • Reducing visible signs of aging
  • Minimizing enlarged pores
  • Supporting overall skin health and maintenance

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT – RECOVERY & RESULTS

How long is recovery?
Mild redness or flaking may occur in the days following treatment, but most patients resume normal activities right away.

What results can I expect?
Smoother, brighter, and more even-toned skin. With a series of treatments, patients typically notice improved texture, enhanced radiance, and a visible reduction in imperfections.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SKIN AFTER TREATMENT?

  • Keep the skin well hydrated with an appropriate moisturizer and follow your provider’s post-treatment protocol.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 7–14 days.
  • Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily (SPF 45 or higher).
  • Avoid retinoids or exfoliants for 5–7 days.
  • Avoid waxing, threading, or depilatory creams for at least 7 days.

For optimal results, chemical peels can be repeated every 4–6 weeks, depending on your provider’s recommendations. Results are enhanced when combined with high-quality medical-grade skincare products.

ARE THERE CONTRAINDICATIONS?

Yes. Chemical peels are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in cases of active skin infection, severe eczema, or allergy to any of the ingredients. A consultation is essential before starting treatment.
